Opportunities and Experiences

A KID AGAIN

A Kid Again fosters Hope, Happiness, and Healing for families raising kids with life-threatening conditions by hosting monthly Adventures so that families always have something positive to anticipate! An adventure is a fun-filled, cost-free, group-based event designed for the immediate family, including siblings. We exist to provide opportunities for families to focus on creating fun, memorable experiences together and to forget about their daily medical concerns. Click here to learn more about the program, or email kpappas@akidagain.org

Anyone from 0-22 years old can participate.

ACHIEVING RIGHT CHOICES

The Arc of Jackson County launched a new program, Achieving Right Choices, for special education classrooms in Jackson County in 2022.  Board President, Deb Schwartz, and self-advocate, Dylan Bridges, co-lead this program.  It is designed to discuss feelings and emotions and healthy ways to respond.  Deb reads a book while Dylan interacts with students by acting out the content of what Deb is reading.  This is a fun and interactive program.  At the end of the school year, students will be given information about The Arc of Jackson County so their families can learn about services.
